Ras Tanura North Pool
Regulators, hoses, inflators, BCD’s, weight systems, and even masks were all checked for condition and operation. Club gear was brought and check for useable sets.
Divers reviewed safety skills demonstrated by Greg Anthony. Buddies were changed around to practice different skills and play games until everyone felt comfortable. Putting the nerves aside, each diver took their time practicing skills they chose to master at a pace they desired with plenty of helpful participants to assist or practice with.
Of the numerous skills practiced, these are the ones that brought the most laughter and smiles:
It will be nice to have “Refresher” days more often throughout the year and we encourage every diver to take advantage of the opportunity. If you have new gear that you’ve never dove with, it should be checked in the pool before you head out on that boat. If you have gear that has been put up for awhile, it should be checked in the pool first. If you want to practice with new gear like a camera, strobe, torches, new clips, weight system, etc. this can all be tested by you in the pool with others around to assist. Take advantage of these special events to socialize with other divers, get new ideas, and just practice your diving for fun. See you next time.
