It was a great day at the DDA beach site of the 2008 Treasure Hunt.  The weather was wonderful, and the water temperature hovered around 73°F. Approximately 50 people, divers and spectators came out to partake in the event.  Twenty divers entered the water vying for twelve prizes donated by Sharky’s Dive Shop, Diver World Diving Center and the DDA.  Special thanks go out to Haitham A. Al-Mubarak of World Diver for bring out a selection of equipment from his shop for all to see.

 

Although the event was open to all of the Aramco dive clubs, most of the participation came from Dhahran.  The lavish spread of food cooked by Ras Tanura’s President David Shield was a welcome site to hungry divers and spectators alike.

 

The divers found eleven of the twelve markers.  One group of three divers found five markers and in the spirit of fair play donated two of them for a draw so that those who didn’t find a marker had a chance of winning a prize. 

 

All in all it was a wonderful day and many thanks went out to Sean Rahati for all of his work in the organization of the event.
